Amanda MacNeil, the cigarette girl at Charlie's, a popular night club in Chicago, 1946. A big-hearted, star-struck girl who yearns to do more with her life.
Charles Langois, owner and proprietor of Charlie's. His sole motivation is to ensure his will become the most popular club in all of Chicago.
Betty Carmichael, server at Charlie's and Amanda's best pal.
Stanley Lester, the head bartender of Charlie's. He mixes fine drinks and tells tall tales.
